Hypnotherapy for stress and overwhelm
How many of you have searched on that term before? Feeling stressed and overwhelmed can be very difficult to cope with. Those constant thoughts about things that could happen and feeling that you can't think straight. Many of my clients come for help because of stress and overwhelm. Whether that is work-related or life stressors at home, such as relationship break up, loss or other changes.
At the moment I'm working with many NHS staff to help them cope with the effects of Covid-19 and with parents and teachers who are also coping with new ways of working and trying to adjust and adapt to change, feeling overwhelmed and out of control.

How do I work?
Hypnotherapy is just one of the therapies that I use to help my clients cope with problems and worries. I also use NLP, Brain Working Recursive Therapy and coaching. All bring options as to how I approach and tailor my work with you, my client.
I've been working as a coach and therapist since 2002. Adding to my skills and knowledge over the years. Even before Covid-19 I was working with clients both online as I have clients throughout the world. I now only work online with clients using Zoom, WhatsApp or phone. Yes, it is possible to use hypnosis and other therapies successfully online.
Before booking any session I usually have a 15 - 20 minute chat with a prospective client. This helps in two ways. Firstly it helps you. By speaking to me and asking me any questions it will let you decide if you feel ok to work with me and, secondly, so that I can find out a bit more about you and the problems you are seeking help for and decide if I could help you. It's also helpful to look at my website and read about me and look at any videos too.

My training and experience.
I first came across NLP and coaching when I was studying for my MBA with the Open University. I got curious and once I'd completed that degree, changed direction and studying Life Coaching in 2000 with The Life Coaching Academy. I studied NLP with Jonathon Clark in Glasgow and am a Master NLP Practitioner.
I then went on to study hypnotherapy with the London College of Hypnosis and took a number of courses with them, including cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy (CBH). Part of the advanced practitioner training in clinical hypnosis included eye movement desensitisation reprocessing (EMDR). I am a member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis and a supervisor for other hypnotherapists.
I've also studied hypnosis with Dr Michael Yapko, a leading US family psychotherapist and with Andrew T Austin on his integral eye movement therapy (IEMT).
The most recent therapy I've trained in is BrainWorking Recursive Therapy (BWRT). Developed by Terence Watts, this therapy seems simple yet like many simple ideas it is effective at helping clients change their responses to old memories and feelings and how they think about the future. I'm an accredited member of the Institute of BWRT and supervisor and examiner for this therapy.
I'm also registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register.
