An award winning local family have recently opened Redz Traditional Fish and Chips at Barmston in Washington and are certain that it will be another winner for them.
Owners George and Wendy Redford, along with their daughter Brooke, have already scooped an award for the “Nations Favourite Chippy”.

The competition which was run by the Mirror newspaper saw the chippy voted as number one in Great Britain “The ‘Plaice’ To Eat “ by its readers.

George said: “We are very proud of our achievement as this was a national competition and we’ve worked hard to get everything right. We use only the finest potatoes and the best quality Icelandic cod and look forward to bringing the same great tasting food and high standards to our local area.”
