Our business is based on over 20 years of experience in fencing, farming and estate management. We take pride in our work and are dedicated to providing you with a hassle-free service and an end product that meets your exact requirements.

All our clients benefit from Martin's wealth of knowledge and expertise. Working in consultation to agree requirements and specification, Martin's friendly, approachable manner will help put you at ease and allow you to relax while your project is completed knowing it's in very capable hands.

A range of small scale civil engineering services compliment our comprehensive fencing service allowing clients with projects which include groundworks to deal with just one contractor.

Having been both a client and a contractor, Martin understands both sides of the customer-supplier relationships and knows exactly what great service feels like. It's what drives him. He ran his own fencing and forestry business successfully for 15 years before joining the Defence Training Estate at Otterburn to manage 23,000 hectares of the Northumberland National Park on behalf of the MOD including woodlands, SSSI conservation areas, recreational access, roads, tracks and fences. At the same time he farmed a flock of 500 Mule and Texel sheep at home, so he also knows about hard work! After six years of estate management at Otterburn and having developed an award winning woodland conservation and sustainable timber production scheme, he left to set up M Dodd Countryside Services. Over the years Martin has established a varied portfolio of satisfied clients including commercial organisations, large government run estates, farmers, woodland and land owners.

Fencing

Agricultural
Secure and versatile, we offer a range of stock fencing options to meet your requirements. From standard or high tensile netting and barb for cattle and sheep to game birds pens and bespoke solutions for less common stock such as lamas and alpacas, we'll work with you to ensure the best, most cost-effective solution for your needs. Plain wire is available where barb is not appropriate.

Equestrian
Post and rail provides a safe, attractive and long-lasting fence which is ideal for containing horses and can be combined with specialised horse netting. Electric wire can be added as a top line or off-set to prevent leaning on, chewing, or socialising over the top rail. We also provide a complete arena installation package along with any groundwork requirements you have such as stable bases and trough installation.

Deer
Deer fencing, when properly planned, constructed and maintained can be an effective way of controlling deer to allow different land-uses to co-exist in close proximity and to protect valuable commercial woodlands.

Rabbit
Rabbits can cause significant damage to crops, trees, sports fields, golf courses and other landscaped areas. Rabbit fencing provides an effective solution to protect your assets.

Groundworks
We appreciate that many countryside projects may require groundworks - whether that be a new road, track or pathway; a boardwalk or bridge; cattle grids; culverts or drainage; or footpath signs and waymarkers. So that you need only deal with one contractor, we provide a range of small scale civil engineering works to compliment our services.

Machinery
Our tracked post knocker allows us to operate easily over ground conditions where wheeled machines would flounder. Providing strength, versatility and stability, its performance is unrivalled in the fencing industry.

The Softrak is a multi-purpose, all-terrain, low ground, pressure carrier. It is able to traverse steep slopes and manoeuvre across soft ground with ease. We use the Softrack for all works involving difficult of environmentally sensitive terrain as it leaves no footprint.
