About Us...

We’re proud of our long history as Chartered Surveyors at Addisons. Formerly J.R. Addisons & Co., the company was founded by Thomas Addison in the early 1900s and has served Barnard Castle and the wider dales ever since, providing expert advice on property, agriculture and valuation.

Headed by Principal Partner Simon Nixon, who has been a part of the company for nearly three decades since he started in 1985, he’s joined at the helm by David Coulson, Richard Duffus and Angela Coulson.

Backed by a team of surveyors, negotiators and office staff, Addisons have an established record of delivering excellent customer service time and time again, something we’re extremely proud of.

With long held traditions integrated with a modern day practice, the company opened a new office in Richmond in 2011, before merging with Broadley and Coulson in 2012, resulting in a further office in Crook.

Serving clients throughout the North of England, covering County Durham, North Yorkshire, Cumbria and Northumberland, we continually aim to provide professional and dynamic advice related to all of the services we deliver – and most importantly, to the high customer service levels originally set by Thomas Addison almost 100 years ago.
