About Us...
James Sutherland was first established in 1919 and are one of the oldest firms of Auctioneers and Valuers in the North East of England.
We specialise in Asset Valuations and Disposal for most of the major Liquidators within the area and are also agents for The Official Receiver.

General online auctions are held every two weeks with the auction going live on a Friday afternoon and ending the following Friday from 12 noon (subject to 10 minute rule). Viewing is at our Maling Court saleroom (unless otherwise stated) on a Thursday prior to the sale ending the following day.
Collection and payment is made from the viewing address on the Monday following the conclusion of Friday's sale unless otherwise stated.
Online auctions are completely transparent. Online auctions cannot have 'rings' where a group of bidders at a live auction conspire to keep bidding lower than it would otherwise be. Online auctions need no telephone bidding and no internet live bidding. Online auctions need no commission bidding where your maximum bid is submitted in advance to the auctioneer - open to abuse by unscrupulous firms.
